Wake Me Up When September Ends - esoteric meaning
by direct mode on September 08, 2007
This is the esoteric meaning of the song Wake Me Up When September Ends. The song was written under the influence of creative forces of which the songwriter, the channel, himself may not be fully aware. In the process of channeling, unconscious thoughts, feelings and memories rise up in the channel and become entwined with and interpreted in the light of his resonant conscious ones. This phenomenon is spreading and deepening as the global awakening progresses, and it is only natural that it also manifests on the popular music scene.
We are living in the age of global awakening. It was predicted by various religions and is also known as the apocalypse. The word apocalypse is usually associated with various disasters, due to the dramatic mental and physical upheaval that this process entails, but the original Greek word apokalypsis means literally "lifting of the veil", i.e. uncovering what is hidden.
Long ago, when we were young, we lived without material bodies as we know them today. As co-creators of the universe, our souls hovered over the winds and waters of the earth. Our destiny is evolution, the continuing creation and exploration of the worlds of form and structure, in harmony, coherence, love, in unity provided by the all-encompassing spirit and the Source. So we decided to enter the material realms and focus our perception through material bodies. Full of enthusiasm, we planted the seeds of spirit in matter, in biological structures, so that we might grow and eventually emerge in a complete union of spiritual and material qualities.
However, something went wrong. The seeds were planted but our consciousness became dominated by matter and our awareness of the all-encompassing spirit, the link to the Source, God the Father, was disrupted. This was the spiritual fall, misuse of our will, also presented as the story of Adam and Eve in the Christian tradition. We lost our innocence. In this traumatic experience driven by egoism, fear and confusion we forgot about our spiritual origin, our Father. Our awareness was left severely limited and bound to matter, to bodily senses, and the disharmony and suffering of human history followed.
Still, the seeds of spirit grew and thus grew mankind, in numbers and maturity, gradually and unsteadily, in difficult conditions. The spring passed, so did the summer, and now has come the time of harvest, the time of awakening, of remembering, and of completion, prophesied for millennia. Looking back to the long history of our kind, it's difficult to believe that the great day of the Lord is at hand now. Spirit is returning, increasingly seeping into our consciousness, bringing understanding and remembrance, flooding our minds and bodies, like rain pouring from heaven. "I will pour out my spirit on all people, says the Lord. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my spirit in those days." (Joel 2:28-29)
It's a wake up call.
