• "I hate my parents!" issue...

  Basically your thoughts on the oh so dulldrum common term/phrase "I hate my parents!" or "they don't understand me!", "they're such faggots!", "they're ruining my life!". Obviously, coming most of the time from rabid teenagers with raging hormones...:roll:
  
  I find it all in the way of bullshit and beyond disrespectful. Unless there's a good, and I mean a damn good reason to be not so loving of your parents, then there's no excuse for "hating" basically your life. They give you food, drink, shelter, and a life you could never achieve on your own at the moment.

  i agree that it is very disrespectful. and i hope most that say it dont mean it. hell i love my parents yeah we butt heads alot especially since they constrict me from alot of things i could be doing...like sleeping over at friends houses...just on the basis i'm gay and i might be lying to them...they constantly think i'm lying but i try my hardest to keep things straight and honest. and yeah...my rents cause alot of problems but i try to see thier side and sleep on any anger i may have....then relook at it.
  
  i dont think i could ever HATE my parents but as my parents they are just trying 2 protect me but i wish they would trust me a bit more than they do. and give me afew more rights...dont matter...2 months and i'm a legal adult anyway. :D

  Yeah, I've gone on about how I 'hate my parents' and stuff like that. But then I realized it's the things they do that I don't like. Like, sometimes it feels like they don't trust my judgement and that makes me mad. And then they fight which I really don't like. I know my parents want what's best for me, and I'm not appreciative enough. But I am glad I have two parents who love me because there are kids out there who have grown up without any parents to love and hug and kiss them.
  So I agree with you Erin. I just think some kids haven't really realized what a great gift they have.

  I think that saying things like that is very disrespectful, too. My parents and I used to sometimes butt heads when I was in highschool (and still do now, sometimes) but I would never say I hated them because most parents (including mine) are just trying to do what they think is best. And I know I wouldn't be doing as well now if I they hadn't been there to help me out. And I know I have good parents, because they are still coming through for me and help out even when I need it (I've needed lots of help this week) even though I am an adult.
