  • Green Day are in Australia

    Green Day are currently in and touring around Australia.

    The band are being supported by the guys from JET, check them out.

    The band played to a large crowd in Brisbane last night. When Billie Joe said "this is a fucking rock concert, stand the fuck up" no-one sat down for the rest of the show.

  • Good Riddance #75

    Recently the National Australian youth radio station Triple J had the hottest 100 of all time. Half a million people nation wide each voted for 10 songs they felt deserved a place in the hottest 100.

    Green Day had one track in the hottest 100 with Good Riddance (Time of your life) taking the #75 spot.

    The #1 spot was taken by Nirvanas Smells Like Teen Spirit.

  • Australian Tour goes on sale Wednesday

    Green Day's much anticipated Australian Tour goes on sales on Wednesday 1st of July. Idiot Club members are able to snap up pre-sale tickets.

    Green Day will be performing the following dates:
    4th December - Perth
    6th December - Adelaide
    8th December - Brisbane
    11th December - Sydney
    14th December - Melbourne

    Green Day will also be playing in Auckland in New Zealand on the 19th December.

  • 21st Century Breakdown

    Today Green Day release their new Album 21st Century Breakdown, their first studio album since 2004 smash hit American Idiot.

    The album is already gathering excitement and rave reviews from around the world. This album is shaping up to be another high selling album for Green Day who continue on the Rock Opera format used for American Idiot. The first single from the album has already been released as a digital download for a number of weeks and is already charting well.

  • Chart Debuts

    Green Day released their new single, Know your Enemy as a digital download.
    This week the single has debuted at #40 on the Billboard 100 charts, and #19 Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

    The single has also debuted at #30 in UK singles charts.

    In iTunes chart debuts; #4 Canada iTunes charts, #10 Greece iTunes charts, #5 Luxembourg iTunes charts, #9 Portugal iTunes Charts, and #6 Sweden iTunes charts.

  • Know Your Enemy avaliable for digital download

    Following the success of other bands in releasing the first single as a digital download in advance of a CD copy, Green Day have gone ahead this week and released the first single "Know your Enemy" from their new album "21st Century Breakdown".

    The single is currently available worldwide from the Apple iTunes Music Store, Bigpond Music, and other online music retailers.

  • New Album Out May

    Green Day have recently announced their next Album will be titled 21st Century Breakdown with a worldwide release on the 15th May 2009.

    The new album will follow the rock opera formula used on American Idiot with more religious themes throughout the album.

    The album has been produced by legendary rock producer Butch Vig who as a member of the band Garbage has also produced for bands such as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, AFI, Jimmy Eat World, and the Subways.

    Billie Joe's side project "Pinhead Gunpowder" are set to play a few gigs in February:

    February 3rd, Chain Reaction - Anaheim, CA
    February 4th, Troubadour - Los Angeles, CA


    The last time PG played was in 2001, so if you live nearby, you'd be mad not to check it out!
